Silent thoughts in a heavy fall,
Twinkling droplets, down they crawl
Leaving traces of silver lines,
Down my window glass they shine.
My eyes would follow every trail,
of every head and every tail
of every droplet I can see
but each would run away from me.
The pour it never stops until...
...green creatures they have got their fill
...farmers they have found their rest,
...children learn to wait with will.
The pour it never stops until..
its time the sun decides to lead,
knowing it must humble down,
and grace to the humble is abound.
I closed my eyes and held my thoughts,
walked pass by all my battles fought
I looked behind and clearly saw
My scars and failures, all my flaws.
My legs they followed every trail,
of ev'ry memory that prevailed,
of ev'ry tear drop I have left,
none would dry as they damp my path.
The rain it falls so abundantly,
Like your love, you lavish upon me.
In times like these that I can see,
I thirst for you to no degree.
You fill me and I find rest,
My mind and will was put to test
But, I will wait as you teach your child,
and I will learn how to smile
in times like these..
Father, friend, my help in need,
The One who washes my wounds that bleed,
The One who heals, and changes me,
The One who is and will always be.
